Mansfield High School

Mansfield High School science teacher Mark DeGirolamo was a featured speaker at the Massachusetts Science Education Leadership Association Conference on October 25, 2024. The conference, titled Leading the Learning: Engaging Young Citizens through Science, focused on programs that authentically develop students’ science and engineering skills. Mr. DeGirolamo presented on the work he does with his field ecology students, a class he developed from the ground up. Field Ecology is open to all students in grades 9-12 and allows students the opportunity to participate in real-world science applications, including off-site field trips, data collection, and completing fieldwork.
